If you don’t see the question you need answered on this FAQ list, contact us or leave a comment on this page! The staff over here at the 999 Diet is always available to answer any questions you may have in a prompt, friendly fashion!

Please Note that the topics on this page, cover both the 999 Diet and the 999 Advance Liquid Program

Q: Is this an extreme diet?
A: No, certainly not, this is a lifestyle plan, not super low carb, or low fat, or a crush diet plan. it will leaves you satisfied and feeling very energy while seeing the results you want to achieve.

Q: Do you have to eat meat on this diet, does it work for vegetarians?
A: Of course this works for any diet style, even vegetarians! This diet can be used by anyone on a restricted diet, meat free, and even someone who is diabetic, or has food sensitivities!
Anyone can use this system to create a fat burning plan that is specific to their body’s requirements, and the tastes they love. People with diabetes especially love the 999 Green Program as it helps them to easily regulate their blood sugar, which finally allows them to drop unwanted pounds after years of trying everything.

Q: I have seen quite a bit in the news about an increase in the presence of food allergies. Can they use the 999 Diet?
A: Though you should Consult a physician before starting any diet, i haven’t run into anyone that has been unable to use this diet.
It is truly unique and easy to tailor to your specific needs. Many portions of this program have been custom tailored already to individuals with food sensitivities.

Q: Is this an All or Nothing plan?
A: No way. Society has learned from years of experience that all or nothing plans rarely work. Remember that you should eat the foods you crave unless you are in a super ramp up, drop a ton of weight, phase for an upcoming event, and then still you should eat a wide variety of foods. Enjoy the foods you love, the foods you crave, and even your mother’s famous uber fattening cheesy bacon potatoes, just don’t do it all the time.
Your 999 Diet is really about creating a long term solution to your weight loss challenge, while you’ll see quick results, it is not about getting a quick fix. I would never encourage you to participate in any program that is All or Nothing. Many people choose the 999 Diet because it eliminates the need for perfection, while still propelling you toward amazing results, and it provides you with all of the tools to succeed.

Q: Is it Normal to Always Think About Food?
A: Yes. Your body is the product of thousands of years of hereditary evolution. We are used to needing food, now that there is an abundance of food in modern society; it’s hard for our bodies to understand the difference. During this transition your body will be aching for much more food than you’re giving it. However, remember that food is more than being full, it’s nutrients. Your body will begin to calm down and the cravings will pass. Most practitioners report feeling less hungry after the three day mark.

Q: What Should I Do if I Feel the Need to Eat Something While the Cycle?
A: Our practitioner tell us that usually an extra serving of juice solve this, though if you absolotly feel that you need to eat, there is no need to worry. However, instead of eating something that isn’t beneficial to you, eat something like cucumber, celery, or avocado. This will feel you up, but not interrupt your 999 process. when you feel that you are ready, simply start the cycle over.

Q: Is it Okay to Chew Gum During The Cleanse?
A: It may seem insignificant, but chewing gum actually increases your craving for food. It will make it harder for you to go through the active intervals of the 999 Diet if you begin chewing gum, so make sure to steer clear.

Q: What do I do if Traveling?
A: If you know ahead of time when you’re going to be traveling, make sure to base the 999 Diet phases around the date to where you feel comfortable. However, if you have a surprise trip don’t worry too much. You can simply postpone the cycle for a week until you are back on your regular routine.

Q: Is it Okay to Drink Coffee?
A: When you are on the active days of the diet, coffee is definitely off the list as well as sodas. However, it’s the caffeine that you are trying to avoid, if you crave the morning tradition of a hot beverage, feel free to get some decaffeinated coffee.

Q: Can I Buy Juice From a Juice Bar?
A: Definitely! If you have a fresh juice bar you like to frequent feel free to indulge in the convenience. However, make sure you talk to the owner or a knowledgeable employee about the freshness of their juice and ask them if they can give you a daily supply.

Q: What happens if I Have to Skip a Week?
A: If you miss a week, just make sure to supplement yourself with as many healthy choices as you can. Don’t eat processed foods or fast food. Make sure to eat plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables to keep yourself living a healthy lifestyle. If you get off the cycle, give yourself the time you need and jump back on the cycle when you’re ready.

Q: Can I Use a Blender Instead of a Juicer?
A: Using a blender vs. a juicer is basically the difference between a smoothie and juice. A blender does not have the capability to turn produce into juice. Using a blender is incredibly non-beneficial. Because juice contains all the benefits from produce while also getting rid of the unnecessary parts that our bodies don’t need (or that cause strained digestion), blending your produce keeps all of those non-essential, hard-to-digest materials.

Q: Is it Okay to Exercise During Active Intervals?
A: Exercise is highly recommended while being active on the 999 Diet. This will help you achieve even faster results. Since you’re using this diet to change your lifestyle you will be able to get into a better regimen of exercise. Now is the time to try new things. If you couldn’t exercise regularly before, you can now.

Q: Is it safe to smoke cigarettes while using the 999 Diet Cycle?
A: Cigarettes cause cancer among other nasty health complications.  It’s not only going to ruin your cleanse, but if you care about health, you shouldn’t be smoking.

Q: Can I use the 999 Diet while taking antibiotics?
A: All prescription drugs have different side effects.  We recommend you consult with a doctor before the diet if you are on antibiotics or other prescription meds.  The best part of the diet is that it can enhance your immune system and prevent colds before they occur.  Studies show that healthy lifestyles minimize chances of catching illnesses.

Q: Can I use the 999 Diet if I have Diabetes?
A.  You definitely want to consult a doctor before doing a juice-based diet like the 999 Diet. Fructose is a sugar and you can complicate your blood-glucose levels if you are drinking fruit juices. As a general rule, we don’t recommend this diet to Diabetics.

Q: I’m lactose intolerant.  Is it okay to do the 999 Diet Cycle?
A: Absolutely. 999 Diet is vegan (dairy and animal product-free).

Q: I’m a celiac (Allergic to Gluten).  Is the 999 Diet going to give me trouble?
A: Not at all.  The 999 Diet Cycle is amazing and gluten-free. There are no additives in our recipes, just pure juice.

Q: Where do I get my protein?
A: Vegetarians get their protein from Soy, Green juices, beans, Nuts and other vegetables like spiraling wheatgrass shoots. Protein can also be found in blue-green algaes such as Chlorella, E3Live, Spirulina, and Green Superfood Powders. Many herbivores (vegetarian animals) get their protein from greens.

Q: What if I have Candida or I can’t eat a lot of sugars.
A: We recommend you avoid the sugar-heavy fruits and stick to vegetable and nut based juices.

Q: I get yeast infections, should I still take my acidophilus?
A: if you need certain bacteria, you may continue taking those supplements.

Q: Can I drink seltzer or sparkling water with the diet?
A: Sparkling sodas use compressed CO2 (carbon dioxide).  This is harmless, but it will make you burp or become gassy.  If you’re addicted to sugar and corn syrup sodas like Coke and Pepsi, and the fizz is your thing, go for the seltzer water.

Q: Can I sweeten my tea?
A: If you need to sweeten your drinks during the 999 Cycle, try using Agave Nectar.  Agave is lower in sugar and frequently used by diabetics to sweeten their food/drinks.  It is lower in calories, too.

Q: I feel dizzy.  Is this from my 999 Diet?
A: Did you just exercise?  Are you drinking enough water?  The 999 Diet Cycle actually helps you focus and think better, because his is because muscles in your stomach that process food are not working nearly as hard when you are on a liquid diet.  Your blood is also flowing around your body instead of to your core-only. The diet does not cause any kind of light headedness.

Q: What celebrities have done the 999 Diet Cycle?
A:  We don’t like to kiss and tell. But trust us when we tell you that they use it. If they’re in magazines, they’ve worked with us.

Q: This is expensive!  How am I going to afford all this fruit?
A: You’d be surprised but the cost balances out because fresh produce costs less than brand name products.  Your bills will not change, we keep the budget on average of $10-15 a day, including snacks.

Can my wife do your program after pregnancy?

    • avatar 999 says:

Truthfully, the reason why most people who use this diet love it is because the 999 Diet is an incredibly healthy way for your wife to lose weight after having a baby, or the holidays, or any other time that she, or both of you pack on more than a few pounds.
Really, many couples have expressed how much they love doing this together, and keeping each other accountable.

  2. avatar Marc says:

Should I buy Organic Produce? What’s the difference?

    • avatar 999 says:

Organic Produce may be more costly, but it’s guaranteed to be free of pesticides and preservatives. It is your choice, but we recommend using Organic Products if they are available.

  3. avatar Donna says:

I need to quit those cigarettes! Will the 999 Diet Cycle help me?

    • avatar 999 says:

You never know! Making active changes in your lifestyle and eating habits might make a big difference. While Smoking is addictive, the 999 Diet is a program that offers a healthier approach to food consumption. If you adhere to the program, it’s very likely your body will no longer want the cigarettes.

  4. avatar Meredith says:

Is it safe to do the 999 Diet if I am pregnant or nursing an infant?

    • avatar 999 says:

As with any diet or supplement, Pregnant or Nursing mothers, or anyone with a risky health condition such as heart disease or high blood pressure should consult with a doctor before doing the 999 Diet. Breastfeeding mothers require more calories. However, adding 999 Diet and nutrients to your existing regular diet while breastfeeding and/or pregnant can be beneficial.

  5. avatar Tammy D says:

Okay, so I’m constipated. I drank coffee, and I ate a bran muffin, and no luck. Is this gonna stop or am I totally blocked now?

    • avatar 999 says:

You’re eating a lot less solid foods. Without much to push around your intestines, you might be constipated, or you might have some loose stool (diarrhea). This is to be expected. You might not be constipated at all, it could just be that your schedule of bathroom visits will become less often.

  6. avatar Gary says:

I’m very allergic to cashews, can I still do the 999 diet?

  7. avatar Adam says:

What kinds of negative effects will this have? Will my body freakout during the detox?

    • avatar 999 says:

During any healthy diet, your body is restarting just like a computer. It needs to adjust to the adjustments you’re making. Just as your body gets the shakes or headaches come, when you go off a heavy diet of caffeine. Eliminating a heavy meat and solid food diet can cause reactions that will eventually mellow. Some of these are breakouts (your body releasing oils), foul body odor (your skin is releasing your bad toxins), or a coated tongue (new nutrients in your body).

      • avatar Eric says:

I switched deodorants from a nasty chemical one, to a new natural deodorant and it fixed the under-arm sweat problem.

  8. avatar Nick says:

What should I do if my stool is bloody?

    • avatar 999 says:

Don’t panic just yet. If you’re eating a lot of red beets, you might think you’re bleeding in the toilet. That’s just the natural redness of the beet root.
If you’re sure you’re bleeding, call a doctor or visit your nearest Emergency room. The 999 Diet does not cause any kind of bleeding.

      • avatar Abigail says:

I went number 2 after drinking beet juice and I totally thought I was dying, and then my husband realized it was the beets. We had a big laugh after that.

  9. avatar Aiden says:

I have a daughter who is 14 years old and overweight. Is it okay to start her on the 999 Diet Cycle?

    • avatar 999 says:

Not everyone is right for the 999 Diet Cycle. It takes discipline to make sure that you’re following the plan. If your child is not under your guidance, he/she might not be able to follow the steps of the diet correctly. With teenagers it’s not a problem, but for young children, we recommend you urge your daughter to eat well and exercise. If you want to get your daughter excited about fruit juices, try offering the 999 Diet as a supplement to her existing diet, first.

  10. avatar Tracy K says:

I love Diet Coke, I can’t live without it. Is it okay to drink it?

    • avatar 999 says:

Diet Sodas contain artificial (laboratory made) sugar substitutes. They’re not good for you. Try switching to organic sodas made from cane-sugars, without caffeine. Or use the 999 Diet as an opportunity to give it up!

  11. avatar Nicole says:

    Uh-Oh.
I just drank the wrong juice.
I switched it because I mislabeled it in my fridge.
    Is that bad?

    • avatar 999 says:

It’s not the end of the world, but it does matter what order you use the 999 Diet Cycle drinks. The order in which you consume your juices affects how you absorb, combine and digest nutrients. When your stomach is empty, first thing in the morning, it’s able to get more nutrients out of food and drinks. However, it’s always okay to improvise. This is your diet and you are in control.

  12. avatar Daniel says:

So it’s a long story, but I’ve been jogging to work, and my juice keeps spilling everywhere, so I switched to a salad for lunch. Is that okay?

    • avatar 999 says:

Not a problem. We recommend you try to stick to the foods listed in our recipes before you move to other foods.
If your schedule is messing up your ability to do the 999 Diet Cycle, maybe wait until the time is right to try it again.

  13. avatar Amy says:

I’m trying to figure out what to do after the Cleanse is done. I’m afraid to go back to solid foods…but what can I eat?

    • avatar 999 says:

Okay, so before you start the 999 Diet Cycle, you want to slowly decrease your meat and breads until they’re gone. If you go cold turkey, its much much harder. You might want to eat a lot of salads, vegetables, beans, and nuts in the days before you start. The same general rule also applies to the time right after your 999 Diet Cycle is complete. Don’t eat fried and processed foods. Use your common sense. Eat well. Eat fresh. Don’t overcook your food. Don’t use a lot of oils.

  14. avatar Andy says:

a friend told me that the 999 Diet helped him to alleviate the effects of many chronic pain and inflammation type diseases. He was suffering from severe arthritis but he swears that his symptoms all but disappeared a week into the program. Is this true?

    • avatar 999 says:

Honestly, the government would make me eat my hat if I told you that a diet “cured” anything. I’ve heard many stories like this and there is an abundance of research to back up the fact that the foods suggested you’ll eat on the diet have been known to reduce the effects of some of the major pain causing diseases like arthritis and fibromyalgia.
