The Land of Leftovers: Navigating Juice Storage Options
Chances are you’re not going to be drinking every glass of juice immediately after you make it. You’ll need to make some in advance to take to work, to take on trips, maybe even to take and share with friends! Before you start storing your juice, though, know that there is a right and wrong way to store it.
First, let’s talk about some of the reasons you’ll want (or need) to store juice. First and foremost, for portability. This is especially important during the diet, when all you’ll be having is juice. You want to make sure you have your juice wherever you are – whether that’s at work, out at a friend’s house, or at the mall. Second, to save time. Maybe you have hours to dedicate to juicing on Sunday, but no time on Monday. Juice storage allows you to make extra ahead of time so you’ll have it when you need it. Third, you want to be able to save your leftovers, so you’re not tossing juice (enzyme and money!) down the drain.
Be careful – juice can lose its potency over time, so you don’t want to go too long before drinking it. But there are some great containers on the market that let you store your juice easily and effectively. Here are some of our favorites.
AquaKoozy
Originally this is a water bottle, but it will work great for juice as well, one thing you will have to watch for is carefully cleaning this bottle after every use, this bottle will not last for a long time, but it is the easiest to carry around.
Bormioli Rocco Gelo Glass Pitcher
Great for home use, you can keep up to 41oz, ideal for larger quantities and family use.
Aquasana Glass Water Bottles
These are great if you are looking to use glass bottles, they might be a bit heavier on the go, but they do keep the juice in a more protected environment.
Aside to getting the right juice bottles, make sure you get the right bottle brush that will enable you to keep your bottles clean and germs free!

I’m so into juicing and love your site! Are there any tips to make my juice last longer?
here are, actually. Try squeezing some lemon into you juice. The citric acid may help preserve it longer. And of course you should also store your juice in an airtight container. See our ‘Juice for Thoughts‘ page for more info.
Thanks for the suggestions! If I want to store juice even longer, can I freeze it?
Yes, you most certainly can. You can do it in an ice tray or in a larger container. Just make sure to defrost it naturally, not in the microwave. one thing to note is that not all juice will keep the enzyme value once it’s frozen.
I freeze juice all the time, specially in the summer, my kid loves it!
How long does my juice last?
It really depends on the juice. For example, carrot juice can store for a few days, while something like cabbage juice only last 24 hours. Make sure you look up each juice before deciding how far in advance you want to make it. And remember, the best juice is going to be fresh out of the juicer!
I live in an area where the power tends to go out a lot. It’s really annoying and I’m worried about my juices going bad. Any suggestions.
Tupperware?
Tupperware is plastic, and I’m trying to avoid anything that has chemicals…what about like metal?
Pyrex glass products are a great alternative to Tupperware.
Do they have those in Norway?
You can probably order it online and have it shipped, but most likely, yes.
